Michael David Shirley, 18, of Grove City, passed away March 15, 2007. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Spangler and great-grandmother, Florence Rockwell. Michael is survived by his parents, Brad and Janet Shirley; sister, Danielle; nephew, Gabriel Fike; maternal grandparents, David and Angeline Schaffer; best friends, Nick and Jeff and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Michael was an avid motocross rider and was a member of the AMA. Other than his love for dirt bikes, Michael also enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball and wrestling. He was involved in R.O.T.C. at Grove City High School and attended Central Crossing High School. Michael was employed by FedEx and loved his two dogs, Abbey and Shadow. Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00PM Saturday, March 17, 2007 and 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Sunday, March 18, 2007 with a prayer service at 7:30PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Monday, March 19, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery.
