Michael Vamos

Michael Vamos, 73, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away December 10, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 31, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Paul and Elsie (Smith) Vamos. Michael was raised in Chauncey, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Butch, Nancy, Camilla and Steve.

Surviving family includes his wife of 21 years, Darla Vamos; daughters, Tina, Michele, Beth; step-sons, Dusty, Coty, Travis; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many loving friends and family.

Michael served in The United States Army from 1966 to 1970. He served two tours in Vietnam. Michael was awarded the Purple Heart. He was active with the AMVETS. Michael was a maintenance supervisor at Heinzerling Foundation for 38 years. He medically retired in June of 2014 after suffering several strokes.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery will be December 30, 2021 at 1pm.
