Michael Walter Ohm

Michael Walter Ohm, 54 of Columbus was born October 24, 1960 to Walter Ohm and the late Gloria (Ringer) Ohm in Cincinnati, OH. Survived by his loving wife of 32 years Connie (Mangus) Ohm, children Andrew Ohm & fiance (Alyssa Hilfiger) and Marissa Ohm, siblings Dave Ohm & fiance (Christy Bolton), Danny (Jennifer) Ohm, Rachel (Jerry) Meyer, and niece, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, Step mother Trudy Ohm and step sister and step brothers.

Michael joined the Lord after a long battle with brain cancer. Michael was only given months to live 10 years ago and he fought this disease with faith, courage and strength to the very end. Some called him "Amazing Mike" and others called him "Miracle Mike". His loving wife Connie held his hand and stood by his side through every battle until the very end. They both inspired many people and he gave other cancer patients hope. Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at The James Hospital and to the loving staff at The Kobacker House. Both are truly buildings full of Angels.

Michael was a loving devoted husband and father. He always said his greatest accomplishments in life were his two children. You could not ask for a better husband, father, son, brother, neighbor or friend. Michael loved the ocean and he spent many hours snorkeling and scuba diving. Michael was a handy man he could fix anything. He had a heart of gold and a passion for helping those in need. His family are members of St. Anthony church and he loved his church family. He devoted many hours serving his church and volunteering for St Vincent De Paul to help raise money for the poor through the "Friends of the Poor Walk".

Prior to Michaels illness he was employed by United Dominion Realty. He also worked for the YMCA, The American Cancer Society and Linden Beach Swimming Pool. He graduated with a bachelors degree from OSU.

Per Michael's wishes his body was donated to The Ohio State University Anatomical Program. Just like Michael a gift that keeps on giving. At a later date his family will take a vacation and sprinkle his ashes in the ocean.


Memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony's 1300 Urban Dr., Columbus, OH on August 20, 2015 at 10:00am with a gathering one hour prior with Father Petry.
