It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Michael D. Wilson, 62, went before us into the arms of Jesus on Monday, February 20, 2023.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 6, 1960 to Alvin and Judy Wilson.
Michael's memory will be treasured by his wife of 21 years, Terry Wilson. He is also survived by his siblings, Lena (Bruce) Lenegar, Greg (Laurie) Wilson, Brian (Carol) Wilson; father-in-law, James Spafford; sisters-in-law, Janet (Andy) Woolard, Carrie Applegate, Michele (Stuart) Karow; and much-loved young people Dan Wilson and Denise (Jason) Davis with whom he endeavored to share wisdom, love, guidance, and assistance until his passing. Michael is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be sorely missed by Heath and Bentley, his faithful tail-wagging companions, and accomplices in his day-to-day activities for many years.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents (Alvin and Judy), grandparents (Frank and Rita), mother-in-law (Barbara) and brother-in-law and friend (James).
Michael was an avid football fan and ferociously rooted for his favorite NFL team, the Denver Broncos, and his favorite college (SEC) team, the Auburn Tigers. He also loved all things relating to water – swimming, boating, fishing, body surfing - and couldn't wait to spend time in or near the water.
A private Celebration of Life will take place later this year.
The family would like to say a heart-felt "Thank You" to the staff of the Columbus Ohio Mount Carmel Health System's Emergency Room, Neurology Unit, and Hospice Unit for their care of Michael in his final days.
