Michele R. (Raney) Walton, 38, of Gahanna, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2005, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Ross County, Chillicothe, Ohio, on August 19, 1966. Michele was the daughter of Philip and Norma (Mischal) Raney. She is survived by a loving a devoted husband, Daniel H. Walton Jr. and her beloved son, Daniel H. "Boo" Walton, III. Also surviving are both her parents, Phillip S. and Norma J. Raney, Chillicothe, Ohio, father-in-law, Daniel H. Walton Sr.(Dorothy - deceased) Columbus, Ohio; mother-in-law, Carmen R. Walton, Columbus, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Philip D.(Maria), Columbus, Ohio; Kevin M. (Angelia), Chillicothe, Ohio; Robert B. (Alodia), Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers-in-law Darryl Johnson, (Annette), Columbus, Ohio; Keith Winston, Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Ardelia "Buffy" Walton, Columbus, Ohio, Teri Elder, Columbus, Ohio, Karen Martin, Columbus, Ohio; a host of loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and a very close friend, Maria (Byrd) Martin. In September 1984 Michele accepted the Lord and was baptized at Floral Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Ohio. She was a faithful and active member of the Youth Choir, Usher Board, Missionary Society and served as Secretary for the Sunday School Department for several years. When she moved to Columbus, Ohio she joined New Salem Baptist Church and took part in the food pantry ministry, until her illness prevented her from continuing such service. Michele was a 1984 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She received an Associates Degree from Columbus State Community College and worked in the retail industry for years. She was most recently employed by the Columbus Public School system as a teacher's aide. With heavy hearts we say good night to our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend knowing with the morning light we will see you again. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 on Tuesday, February 15, 2005.
