Morena D. Martinez

Morena D. Martinez, 55, of Columbus, passed away on June 8, 2024. She was born in El Paraiso, Chalatenango, El Salvador to the late Jorge Alas and Celia Martinez. In 1985 She immigrated to the United States, She settled in Los Angeles California where she later married Jose Ramos on June 23, 1990, and he survives.

Along with her husband, she was survived by daughters, Estefany “Jacquie” Campos and Caterin (Eric) Ramos; Grandchildren, Erick Moore, Sebastian Eiseman, Nyla Smith, and Nova Smith; Siblings, Deisy Martínez, Beatriz Martínez, Saúl Martínez, Julio Martínez, Delmi Martínez, Dora Martínez, Alejandro Martínez, and Delia Martínez; Nieces, Gabriella Caballero, Abigail Martínez, and Tatiana(Omar)Martínez; Nephew, Iván Caballero; And many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews back home.

Along with her parents, Morena is preceded in death by son, Erick Campos; Brother, Carlos Martínez and Bonus son Jordan Moore.

Morena served as an STNA for 37 years, caring for residents. After migrating to Columbus, Ohio she landed a position at Whetstone Rehabilitation Center where she served for 21 years, she made many dear friends among staff and residents in her years of working. When she wasn’t at work, Morena loved to Travel the world, camping, gardening with her granddaughters, running, dancing and being the life of the party, she loved fashion and antique shopping, but most of all Morena loved to help people whether they were strangers or family or friends she was always happy to help anyone in need.

Immediate Family will receive family and friends from 1pm to 2pm, Blessing and Prayer service to be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. The Newcomer family is honored to serve the Martínez, Ramos, and Campos families.
