CLARKE

Myrtle Barbara Clarke (Bechtel), age 75, passed away January 30th 2012, at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Born November 18th, 1936 in Jackson County Indiana, Barbara was preceded in death by mother Belle Gray. Retired State of Texas employee and long time awesome mom, Barbara is survived by son Stephen (Karen), daughter Carol, son Joe (Heidi), son Todd; 9 grandchildren, Zachary, Elijah, Sam, Summer, Joe, Adrienne, Adelle, Adam, Evan; great grandson Landon and expected great grandchildren, twins, in June. Barbara was raised in Kentucky and Texas and always called Texas home. She was home coming queen, 1954, at Killeen High School in Texas and point guard on the basketball team. Barbara met and married Earl Bechtel in Killeen Texas at Fort Hood, moved to California and settled in Columbus Ohio where they raised their four children. Barbara was an amazingly talented woman who loved arts and crafts, antiques, pottery and her family. Her door was always open to those in need of a little love, a place to hang their hat or some time to find an answer. One of her greatest gifts as a mother was allowing her children to experience the adventure afforded them. A private ceremony will be held for family and celebration of her life and legacy will be conducted in her Old Kentucky Home, spring 2012 where she will be holding her mother and enjoying her family once again. (Carol was her favorite) Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve the family of Barbara Clarke.
