Nancy May Cardani, 75, of Columbus, passed away at home on November 28, 2024. She was born in Tuscarawas, Ohio, on January 31, 1949, to the late Harry L. and Susie L. (Edie) Myers.
Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory include her daughters: Nina (Duane) Campbell, Mimi Cardani, Stephanie (Martin) Montero, and Tiffanie (Jesus) Cardani, as well as her unofficially adopted son, George (Nicole) Peters; grandchildren: Brooke (Shawn) Webb, Breanna (Ryan) Brousseau, Julius (Victoria) White, Janeh White, Martine (Karla) Montero, Alejandra (Julio) Menchaca, Ronaldo Montero, Mercedees (Armond) Phillips, Celestia Haga, and D’Angelo Gomez; 10 great-grandchildren; the father of her children, Pat Cardani; siblings: Susan Gibbs, Lynn Meese, and Buddy (Nancy) Myers; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, whom she never stopped mourning, as well as many other family members and her great-grandchild, Cearra Susie.
Nancy was a woman of unmatched strength—fearless in the face of adversity and confident in her own unique way. She believed in the power of laughter, always choosing to make light of difficult times rather than dwelling on the negative. She was never afraid to speak her mind. As a devoted mother, she selflessly put her own needs aside for her children.
Her love for her dog, Slim, was undeniable, even though she never fully admitted it. A woman of her word, she often said, "I can do anything once." As a born-again Christian, her faith remained a cornerstone of her life, and she approached every challenge with unwavering resolve.
Throughout her lifelong illness, Nancy fought fiercely and privately. She told her family that she would let them know when she was ready to stop fighting. True to her word, on November 27th, she shared her peace with them. She told her loved ones that she was happy and not afraid to go. The following day, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Her final words were a message of love and reassurance: "It's going to be okay, I'm happy."
