Nancy J. Flavin, age 85, passed away on March 18, 2024, at her residence. Nancy was born January 9, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland to Stanley and Josephine (Cattelino) Fauhl, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 15, 1964, she married Ronald G. Flavin who preceded her in death on February 5, 1999.
Nancy is survived by her children: Karen (Robert) Thompson of New Albany, OH, Shana (Doug) Bender of Pickerington, OH, grandchildren Kathryn "Katy" Bender, Megan Bender, Andrew Bender, Joshua Bender, and Isabella Thompson, great-grandchildren Asher and Ana, sibling Delores "Dee" (Bill) Vandemark, siblings-in-law Richard McDermitt, Phillip (Carolyn) Flavin, Denise Linder, Suzanne (Dave) Bowles, Erin Kelly and Shannon (Ric) Bratton in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings Janet McDermitt and Margaret "Peggy" Hawk, siblings-in-law James Hawk, Darlyn (Leo) Bell, Richard (Jeananne) Flavin, John Kelley, and Stan Linder.
Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Bath High School and a 1961 and 1964 graduate of The Ohio State University. She was a social worker and spent the majority of her career at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was a world traveler and visited many exotic locations. She loved the theater, the symphony, and the companionship of her many close friends and colleagues. She was an avid reader and loved the New Albany branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
There will be a celebration of life brunch held on Sunday April 28, 2024 at 11AM EST at the New Albany Links Golf Club.
