Neal Rutledge Altland

Neal Rutledge Altland, age 80, of Nashport, Ohio and formerly Cambridge, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 26th, 2024.

Neal was born on August 16th, 1943 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Jay Calvin and Bernice Marie (Grabham) Altland. 

Neal retired as the Publisher and General Manager of The Daily Jeffersonian in Cambridge, Ohio. Having found sobriety later in life, he found purpose in leading Celebrate Recovery groups and working with others who struggled with substance abuse. 

Survivors include a daughter, Amy (Joel) Hopkins of Mount Vernon, Ohio; grandson Jacob (Allie) Hopkins of Old Hickory, Tennessee; and granddaughter Dalaney Hopkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Immediate family will receive friends and family from 12:30pm to 2pm, Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Newcomer Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus 43231. A service to honor Neal’s life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, August 3, 2024 also at Newcomer Northeast. Ministers Dion Frasier and William Hopkins presiding.
