Nelson L. Barnett, Jr., (Captain USAF, Retired) 80, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2007, surrounded by his wife, Emma, sons, Dylan Carl and Dana L. Barnett, and loving cousin, Joan Smith at Villa Angela Nursing Home. Born to the late Dr. Nelson L. and Naomi (Willis) Barnett, Sr., on February 19, 1927, Nelson is survived by his wife, Emma (Scott) Barnett; daughters, Denise, Dianne, and Betzye Barnett; sons, Dylan Carl and Dana L. Barnett; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his wife's children: Cornelia (Kirk) Watt, William (Genise) Watkins, John T. Watkins, and Lyndsey Burks. Nelson retired from the USAF after 20 years and then worked for Westinghouse Electric Cooperation and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Columbus. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, at 7:00 PM with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel-St. Ann's Hospice, Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081. Messages of condolence may be left at www.NewcomerFamily.com
