We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nettie Marie Highfill, who departed this life on August 16, 2023, having been born on December 10, 1944.
She is survived by her sister Linda Knight (Gary), in addition to her nieces and nephews, Jodie (Scott) Knight, Stacie Phillips (Zach), Tyler Knight (Kelsie), Colton Knight (Patricia), and James Knight.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband John Lee Highfill, parents, Gladys Marie (Meade) Shuff and Robert Wetzel Shuff, sister, Betty Shuff, and brothers, Robert and Roger Shuff.
The majority of her career was working at the Franklin County Clerk of Courts under Ted Hysell.
Her main passions were cooking, arts and crafts, and animals. Nettie was not just an animal lover; she was an ardent advocate. She devoted her time and resources to the ASPCA, tirelessly contributing to the cause she believed in. This love of animals was a fundamental part of her life.
Her family will miss her humor and wit. She was always a joy to be around.
