NORA LOUISE WATKINS, AGE 92, of HUNTERSVILLE, NC, passed away APRIL 2, 2021 peacefully with family by her side after a long fight with Dementia.
Nora better known as Louise to her friends and family was born on June 29, 1928 in Tram, KY to William (Willie) and Jessie (Reed) Justice.
Nora leaves behind her daughter, Latonya (John) Pace and son Wynfred (Brenda) Watkins; Grandchildren Tiana (Allen) Bryant, John (Brittany) Pace, Austin Pace, Suzan Watkins, Tara (Clayton) Wrighter, Aaron Watkins, James 'Andre' (Keshawna)Fuller, Tamara (Zerrick) Reeves and Shanell Thompson and a host of great grandchildren all of whom she dearly loved.
Nora enjoyed 50 GREAT years of marriage to the "love of her life" Clifford G Watkins before he passed away August 11, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Sheila Watkins, son Ramont Watkins and brother Paul Justice and other beloved family.
Nora was born in the "hollers" of Tram, Ky a place she loved deeply. She spent some of her youth in West Virginia before finally calling Columbus, OH her home for most of her adult years until she relocated to North Carolina with her daughter's family!
Nora married Clifford Watkins on March 27, 1965 and they built a life enjoying simple pleasures revolving around family, friends that felt like family, camping, fishing, traveling in their motor home and gardening.
Nora was known for her hospitality and good cooking! She loved to feed people. If you visited her, you were no doubt asked if you wanted something to eat or drink. Nora and Clifford were known to sit on their front porch ready to welcome anyone into their humble home!
Nora loved taking care of children. She retired as a Licensed and Certified Day Care Provider for both Franklin County in Ohio and private families. Some of her greatest joy came from being "Maw Maw" to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the many other children she cared for right in her home.
Nora was devoted to her God Jehovah! This love for Jehovah influenced every other aspect of her life. Some years later her husband joined her in worshipping Jehovah as well. This brought her great joy! She loved participating in her public ministry helping people to learn of God's promises from the Bible. One dear to her heart is the promise of a resurrection to perfect life in a Paradise New World forever!
This hope provided her with what she called "New World" dreams. She looked forward to again seeing her husband, her parents and many other loved ones lost in death before her and reuniting with those who now miss her until she returns! You will no doubt find her feeding them of course! She relished the thought of enjoying every inch of this beautiful home called Earth and have interesting conversations with faithful ones of old like Noah, Moses, Ruth, Sarah, and Abraham just to name a few!
Burial will be at West Pioneer Cemetery, 865 S State St, Westerville, OH 43081 with just the immediate family at 11am Friday April 23, 2021. On this same date later that evening at 7PM EST the family invites all who wish to attend a virtual Memorial Service via Zoom to keep everyone safe and to avoid travel during the pandemic.
