Norma Boos, age 94, of Grove City, passed away surrounded by her family on September 25, 2021. She was born on March 8, 1927, in Columbus, one of eleven children, to the late Christopher and Kathryn Shoemaker.
Norma was an active member at Grace of God Lutheran Church in Columbus. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, and playing golf and bridge. She enjoyed listening to jazz music, dancing and attending plays at Capital University Theatre and the Little Theatre on Broadway in Grove City. She was also a member of the AT&T Pioneers and enjoyed camping with the group. She was a graduate of Central High School in Columbus and worked for many years as a secretary to the president of Jeffrey Manufacturing Company, legal secretary to Attorney Fred Shoemaker and school secretary at Hanby Jr. High in Westerville.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Judson Boos; children Jeff (Nadean) Traylor and Steve (Debbie) Traylor; Bill (Patty) Boos and Mike (Linda) Boos; grandchildren, Danielle and Ryan Traylor, Rhiana, Mark, Brian, Frenchy and Sarah Boos and Kyle Newsome; 9 great- grandchildren; sister Marilyn Potts; sister-in-law Marty Shoemaker, many beloved nieces & nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
Norma was blessed to be part of a large loving family and she is preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Traylor, and siblings: Christopher, Fred, Donald, Dorothy, Kathryn, Loretta, Betty, Janice and Patricia.
Norma would most want to be remembered for her love of God, family, and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at StoryPoint Grove City and Capital City Hospice for the amazing care and support they provided Norma and the family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Pastor Mark Diemer will officiate. The use of facemasks will be very appreciated. Interment will be at Blendon Cemetery at a later date.
