Norman E. Allen a resident of Columbus, was born in Midland, OH, April 7, 1939. He passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the age of 72. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Forest Allen and Nettie Mae Sams. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Patricia J. Allen, three sons, Norman E. Allen Jr. (Brenda), Forest D. Allen (Teresa), and Walter S. Allen (Tammy). He leaves behind ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two best friends, Bob Holmes and Bill Bare. Norman served in the United States Air Force for 36 years where he earned several medals of Honor and Citations. He retired in 1995 as Chief Master Sergeant on Military and Security Police and retired in 2008 from the State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections as Safety Administrator. Home Going Services will be on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at The United House of Prayer for All People, 1731 Greenway Ave. Columbus, 43203. The viewing will begin at 10:00 am. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am beginning with Masonic Services. Burial at Martinsville IOOF Cemetery where military tap will honor his memory.
