Norman Lester Scarberry

Norman “Lester” Scarberry, age 70, of Columbus, died on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at home with his life partner, and daughter by his side.

On April 30th, 1954, Lester was born in Duvall, Ohio, the youngest of eight children of the late Emmitt and Margaret (Elmore) Scarberry. He was raised in Ashville, Ohio, where he graduated from Teays Valley High School in 1973. In 1975, Lester began his career with Dr. Pepper Snapple until he retired in 2018.

Lester had a lifelong passion for playing golf and watching college football, especially his favorite team, Notre Dame. He loved spending time with his family and friends playing golf, cards, dice, and cornhole; and very much enjoyed his annual golfing trip with his buddies. Lester was a member of the Whitehall VFW Post 8794 where he took part in their golf league. After he retired, he volunteered at the Airport Golf Course by cutting greens.

Lester is survived by his life partner, Vickie (Jordan) Scaggs of Columbus since 2007; daughter: Jennifer (Eric) Bradford of Marysville; step-daughters: Melinda (Curt) Krams of Salisbury, MD, and Samantha (Steven) Roberts of Ocala, FL; grand-daughters: Adyson Bradford, Cadence and Calliope Krams, Paisley and Delaney Roberts; brother-in-law’s: Gail, and Bob (Mary) Jordan; sister-in-law’s, Pam (Jordan) Foor – Mary Yoakam, Cheryl, Kris, and Debbie Jordan; plus, many nieces and nephews.

Including his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brothers: Steven, Boyd, Ronald, and Lawrence, and his sisters: Norma, Joanne, and Ruth; mother- and father-in-law: Loren and Wanda Jordan; brother-in-law’s: Jim, Larry, Terry and Don Jordan.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, from 10:00 am to Noon. A funeral service will immediately follow at Newcomer Northeast Chapel- 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road., Columbus, OH 43231.
