It is with great sorrow that the family of Norvell E. Morris Jr., 73 announces his transition home to the Lord on December 6, 2023.
Norvell E Morris Jr., was born January 28, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Norvell and Etheline (White) Morris Sr.
Norvell was a graduate of South High School in Columbus Ohio and served in the United State Army as a Specialist E-4 from 1970 – 1973. He was a M16 Marksman; expert rated in grenades; Missile rocket and explosive specialist and received a National Defense Service Medal. Norvell was a retired federal employee of 31 years at DSCC where he received numerous accolades.
Norvell had a passion our Lord Jesus Christ and his favorite scripture was John 14:6. He was a talented musician who loved to play the saxophone, flute, piano and classical guitar. With a host of other talents.
Norvell was preceded in death by his Father Norvell E. Morris Sr., Mother Etheline (White) Morris, and brother Byron Morris.
Norvell is survived by his brother Roderick (Symentia) Morris, life partner Nancy J Tucker, children Gloria Mayhew, Michael Tucker, Rhonda (Joseph) McMullens, and April Tucker. Norvell, affectionately known as Pawpaw, leaves amazing memories with his grandchildren Tiara, Amber, Cheyenne, Christian, Anthony, Phoenyx, Jordin, Leah, Micheal jr., Christopher, Ezra and great-grandchildren Gary, Angelise, Wayne IV, Weston, Zarabella, Aleysia, and Liam.
Visitation will be held from 10am to 11am, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus 43231. Service to follow visitation at 11am, Saturday, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow services in Franklin Hills Memorial Gardens. The Newcomer family is honored to serve the Morris family.
