Nye Albert Green, 91, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at his home. He was born to the late Virgil and Lida Green on August 4, 1917 in Greenup County, KY. Nye served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1944, he retired as a Barber after 31 years, and was a member of Briggs Road Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for several years. In addition to his parents, Nye was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of 66 years, with whom he married on May 23, 1942. Survivors also include his children, Albert (Linda) Green of London, Evelyn Frison of Columbus, Barbara (Jack) Clark of Grove City, Ron (Ann-deceased) Green of Hilliard, Darryl (Sharon) Green of West Jefferson, and Shelia (Gordon) Bragg of Columbus; 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:00AM at the Briggs Road Baptist Church, 3231 Briggs Road, Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Dr. Ronald Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Dennison Chapel Cemetery, Madison County.
