Oceana Fern (Sayers) Israel, 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Westerville, Ohio.
She was born on July 15, 1934 in Nemours, West Virginia to the late Isaac Newton and Nannie Sayers.
Oceana Fern is preceded in death by daughter, Linda Israel and several sisters and brothers.
Oceana Fern is survived by son, Thomas (Sandy) A. Fisher; grandchildren, Justin Fisher, Jessica Israel, Ian (Brittany) Fisher, Sara (Charlie) Burggraf; three great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
She worked for over 40 years with The Fontanelle. After retirement, she volunteered for several years at Kobacher House.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 pm also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Pioneer Cemetery.
