Olga Jean Moran

September 17, 1945 — December 17, 2023

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven, a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

A Time to Be Born – Olga Jean Moran was born on September 17, 1945 to the late Etoil Boyd-Evans and David Moran in Hillsboro, Mississippi. She was the youngest of her siblings and was welcomed by an older sister, Daree.

A Time to Plant – She received her education from the Scott County and Leake County School districts within the state of Mississippi. She worked at JCPenney Distribution Center in Columbus, Ohio until she retired in 1991.

A Time to Love – She was blessed with a son, Xavier Antonio "Tony" Moran and through his marriage received a loving, devoted daughter-in-love, Felita and two grandchildren, Jasmyn and Jaylen, who she cherished dearly and earned the affectionate title of "Shamma". The mother/son bond between Tony and Jean was the perfect blend that overflowed into her relationship with Felita. Jasmyn and Jaylen were the stars to her life production. She was married to Victor Roberson and was blessed to gain a bonus daughter, Victoya Swanson and to extend her love and play a vital role as a loving grandmother to Mahogany Swanson. It is from Mahogany that she earned the name "Mama Jean" which became how she was thought of by everyone from that moment forward. She extended her heart and home to many that grew to love her as their own and called her "Mama Jean" and "Mom". Jean had a love for animals and enjoyed relishing in the meals and desserts prepared on cooking shows. She spent hours watching cooking shows expanding her virtual palette from countries around the world. When she was not dining with cooking shows, she was enamored with the adventures of Nat Geo Wild and Discovery. She enjoyed daily conversations with her sister, known to all as "my sister". Their bond is an everlasting one the extends from their childhood of playing make believe into their adulthood and will remain throughout eternity. Her title of "Aunt Jean" and "Aunt OJ" will forever remain in the hearts of her nieces and nephews. Her witty and fun-loving personality brought much joy to their summers and family gatherings.

A Time to Die – Jean departed this life on Sunday, December 17, 2023. She leaves to cherish her son, Tony Moran and daughter-in-love, Felita Moran (Westerville, OH). A bonus son, Greg Holt (Michelle) of Columbus, Ohio. One daughter, Toya Swanson of Columbus, OH. Six grandchildren, Jasmyn and Jaylen Moran of Westerville, OH, Mahogany Swanson, Taquan Williamson, Hasan Staples of Columbus, OH & Raquan Willamson of Minot, SD, and one great-grandson, Kevin Jr. A loving sister, Daree Sparkman of Lena, Mississippi. A bonded brother and sister, Robert (Jackie) Holifield and Joyce Huntley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
