Opal Darlene Jenkins, age 85, passed away on April 16, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on May 4, 1938 in Bland, Virginia to the late James and Symantha (Ory) Harmon.
Opal was married to the love of her life, Marvin Jenkins, for nearly 70 years. Opal worked different jobs throughout her life, always with a smile and kindness to all. She was a brave and courageous woman, and taught her daughters and granddaughters how to be kind and brave women. She loved her family and experienced the most joy when they were all together.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Dewey (Eva) Harmon, Heskell Harmon, Lois Reidt, and Bonnie Long.
Opal is survived by her husband Marvin; children Danny (Yasuko) Jenkins, Ronnie (Vickie Crego) Jenkins, Barbara (Garry) Green, Michael (Michelle) Jenkins, and Tammy (Mark) Jenkins-Dodds.
Grandchildren Danielle Green, Zach (Amy) Green, Kelly Jenkins-Dodds, Carissa (Eric) Beverly, Kylie Jenkins-Dodds, and Matthew Green.
Her great-grandchildren Dillon Green, Eli Green, Tressie Beverly, Gavin Selkinghaus, Luca Green, Gage Selkinghaus, Clayton Beverly, and Levi Beverly were blessed to know and love her.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many more good friends and family.
Friends may call at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 11:00am until time of the funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City, Ohio.
