Orangie Ray Gray, 89, of Newark, passed away January 19, 2022. Orangie was born March 20, 1932 in Barbourville, KY to Whitley and Ethel (Lawson) Gray.
He never knew a stranger and always talked about his relationship with Jesus. Orangie enjoyed driving a truck, gardening and especially spending time with his family.
Orangie will be deeply missed by his wife Norma (Richie) of 37 years; son Wayne (Donna) Gray; step-children Dan (Linda) Gobel, Paula (Clarence) Herring; grandchildren Lisa (Nate) Linder, Ryan (Jennifer) Gobel, Jared (Amber) Spencer, Kelly (Anthony) Brehm, Jesse (Ashley) Gobel; 13 great-grandchildren ; siblings Tom Gray, Dorothy Foster, Bobby Gray, Eleanora Gray, Hazel Brown, Rosetta Merida along with many other family and friends.
Orangie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Jane (Payne), step-daughter Donna Spencer and 6 siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm at Crossroads Baptist Church 5075 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, OH 43231. There will be another visitation on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 11am until the time of service at 12pm at the church with Pastor Paul Gabriel Officiating.
Burial will be at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Orangie's name.
