Oretha E. Courts, 79, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born September 26, 1930, in Boone County, WV, daughter of the late James Kesley and Vesta Lula Lucas Egnor. In addition to her parents, Oretha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Carl R. Courts; son, Carl R. Courts II; daughter, Vivian Leigh Courts; brother, Gilbert Egnor; grandson, Rex Allen Ellis. She graduated from Hamlin High School and retired from Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Oretha is survived by her sons, Stephen, Randy and Wayne Courts ; daughter, Elizabeth Hamilton; stepson, Richard Browning; brother, James Egnor; nephew, Jim Egnor; niece, Lora Egnor; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; chosen family Stella Beck, Minerva Endicott, Don (Jolene) Nichols, Micki and Justin Cowell and beloved cat, Buster. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Concord Cemetery, 6244 Hoover Rd. Grove City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Faith Mission, 315 E.
