DEPRIEST
Orlyn H. "Bugs" DePriest, 84, Columbus, took his heavenly journey to meet the Lord and Savior on, Thursday, January 5, 2012. Orlyn was born in Lawrence County, OH on January 28, 1927, to Pearl and Tella (Aldridge) DePriest, and is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Genevieve Thompson and Barbara "Barb" Malone; brother, Gerald DePriest; sister-in-law, Martha Sites; brothers-in-law, Emery and Bobby Payton. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Barbara (Payton) DePriest; son, Michael G. DePriest; sister, Martha (Glen) Carmon; brother, Pearl "June" DePriest; grandchildren. Micah and Brent DePriest; great-grandchildren, Damien and Angelic Gayebrella DePriest; sisters-in-law, Gertie (Ralph) Ackison, Marlene (Jack) Pemberton, Donna (David) Knipp, Beverly Payton, Floye (Sam) Cooke; brother-in-law, William (Sally) Payton; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. "Bugs" served as a Tech Sergeant in the US Army during the Japanese Occupation, 1945-1946, was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and the Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM with the service immediately following the visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Graveside Service Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 1PM at Aid Cemetery, Aid, OH.
