Owen William Kessler, 34, born on November 20, 1988, in Danbury, Connecticut, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 16, 2023. Owen graduated high school from Veritas Academy and went on to attend Mississippi College graduating with a degree in Psychology. After college, Owen was accepted into Xavier University's program for Clinical Psychology and finished with an MA in Psychology.
With a heart to help those in need, he worked at Embracing Autism and local restaurants, taking pride in serving others. Owen could talk to anyone about anything and understood people in a deep way. He loved a hard dark read, especially from authors John Steinbeck, William Faulkner, and Victor Hugo. He enjoyed old movie marathon nights with his Dad and Mom and wouldn't miss the chance to go to the gym with his brothers and sister. And, he took any opportunity to fish. Owen trained for and completed 7 half marathons, and loved to run, always encouraging others to run too. He wrote with singular depth and brilliance using his expansive vocabulary masterfully. Although his family knows he is in the arms of Jesus, they will miss him dearly—his smile, his intelligence, his compassion for others, his sense of humor, and his unique perspective on life.
Owen is predeceased by his sister Heather Margaret Kessler, January 26, 1984, and is survived by his father and mother, William and Hazel Kessler, his siblings, Christopher Kessler (Natasha), Jonathan Kessler, Jennifer Hill (Douglas), and his nephews and nieces, Lucas Moyer, Ashlynn, Addison, and Anderson Kessler, and Roman Hill.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
2 Timothy 4:7
