Pam Whitmer

November 4, 1955 — December 7, 2024

Pam Whitmer, a remarkable woman who filled the lives of those around her with love and laughter, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, at her home in the embrace of her beloved family. Born on November 4, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, Pam’s journey through life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Education and career were important to Pam; she earned her Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from Franklin University, where she blossomed into a career at ICC for 17 years, that reflected her natural talent for connecting with others. But it was her essence as a person that truly shined. A larger-than-life personality, she was known for her kindness, humor, adventurous spirit, and a fierce determination that characterized her fight against cancer. Pam was not just a fighter; she was the strongest woman her family knew.

She was a devoted family woman who loved traveling the world with the love of her life, Jim. Together, they created countless unforgettable memories, exploring new places and sharing adventures that exemplified their deep bond. In her heart, Pam was a dedicated fan of the Michigan Wolverines and the Cleveland Browns, proudly holding season passes to cheer for her beloved team.

Pam was immensely proud of her family; she celebrated the achievements of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with an unmatched enthusiasm. Each accomplishment brought her immeasurable joy, and her love for her husband of 20 years was a cornerstone of her life.

Alongside her surviving family—her loving husband James M. Whitmer, her sons Kelvin (Young-ah) Casperson, Joe Rock, daughters Shannon Nelson, Nichole (Will) Creekbaum, Rikki (Gary) Hurt, Wendi (John) Somerlot, Keri (Justin) Whitmer, and Jami (Randy) League, along with many adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and beloved dog, Ava—Pam's legacy of love and strength will continue to thrive.  She is also survived by her cherished brothers, Tim (Linda) Lantto, Billy (Angela) Goldsbury, and sister Barbara Goldsbury, who carry forward her memory.

Pam is preceded in death by her father Wendell Lantto and her mother Doris Lantto, who undoubtedly would have been proud of the woman she became.
