Gilbert R. Jarrell, 71, of Grove City passed away Thursday, Januray 28, 2021 at Doctors Hospital.
He was born September 24, 1949 in Lenore, WV, son of the late George Evans and Willie Eva Jarrell.
In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky F. Jarrell; brother-in-law, Dr. Steve Crabtree and sister-in-law, Reata Crabtree; brothers, Daniel Evans and James Evans; sisters, Elenee Mullins, Wanda Hall, Sarah Wilkerson and Mary Thompson.
He is survived by his brothers, Ronald Jarrell, Herbert Smith, Adam Evans and George Ruben Evans; sisters, Judy Linn, Rose Mitchell, Gladys Bartram, Marlene Hundley and Shirley Luck.
Gilbert was a man of God and a great friend to many.
He was a people person who loved all.
Throughout the years he brought many souls to the Lord as an Evangelist and a Pastor.
Gilbert was a fan of gospel music and him and his wife, Vicky wrote over 200 original songs that have changed many lives along the way.
Gilbert was a retired mechanic from Roadway Trucking Company and also along with his wife Vicky started a Gospel group called Gilbert and Vicky and the Singing Gospels which was later changed to The Gospel Reflections.
They traveled many of miles preaching and singing the Gospel of Jesus Christ until they became The Pastors of Calvary Road Community Church in Grove City, OH.
Gilbert always had a lot of faith.
He was a fun person to be around and always tried to make the best of the situation no matter what the circumstances were.
Everyone he knew will continue to be blessed with his memory and legacy.
There will never be another like him.
Gilbert was the type who would give you the shirt off his back.
He always said the most important thing is getting to Heaven and taking care of your family.
He was very humble and he was known as the preacher in The Black Cadillac.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Calvary Road Community Church, 5108 Norton Road Grove City, with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM at the church.
