Patricia Lynn Carter

February 13, 1953 — October 29, 2024

Patricia Lynn Carter, lovingly known as Aunt Patty, was born on February 13, 1953, in Huntington, West Virginia. She departed this life peacefully on October 29, 2024, surrounded by her closest family, leaving behind a legacy of love cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Patricia embodied the qualities of a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and an ever-giving friend. She was a person who radiated warmth and kindness, and those who knew her often described her as very giving, loving, caring, accepting, and selfless. Her ability to connect with others was deeply felt, especially by her family. Patricia's daughter, Melissa (Cale) Hagen, and her grandsons Spencer, Jake (Aubrie), Chance, and Aiden were undoubtedly her proudest accomplishments, a source of immense joy and pride.

Patricia had a creative spirit and spent much of her time engaging in her beloved hobbies. She was an avid crafter, with a particular passion for quilting, sewing, and making wreaths. Each handmade creation was a reflection of her care and thoughtfulness, not just for the act itself but as gifts filled with love for her family and friends.

The memories shared by her grandsons are a testament to the deep bonds they forged during countless weekends spent together. They fondly recall the excitement that filled the air when Grandma Patty would come to pick them up on Fridays, ready for their indoor picnics featuring her famous fried bologna. Those gatherings were more than meals; they were moments of laughter, storytelling, and a celebration of family that will be treasured forever.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Cale) Hagen, grandsons Spencer, Jake (Aubrie), Chance, Aiden, sisters Kathy (Steve) and Kim, and many close friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Carter; mother, Sadie R. Sullivan; sisters, Paula and Jane; and brothers, Michael and Kevin.
