Patricia "Pat" L. Thetford, of Westerville, OH passed away February 28, 2021 at Worthington Christian Village.
She was born on May 7, 1937 in Dennison, OH to Duane R. and Margaret V. (Kasun) Yant.
She is survived by her children; Roy D. (Candace Jones) Thetford, Kelly A. (Dave) Blickensderfer, Sean M. (Michelle) Thetford, and Tanner; grandchildren; Bailey Thetford, Jacob, Taryn (Alexandria), and Nathan Blickensderfer, Alyx, Teague (Alyssa), and Camryn Thetford ; great-grandchildren Genevieve and Evander Thetford; siblings Ken (Shirley) Yant, Larry (Patty) Yant, Mary Bowen, Marty Yant, Beth (Ken) Sovacool, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years Roy D. Thetford.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1955 and The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education Degree in 1959. She was a beloved teacher and tutor for many years.
After retirement she enjoyed volunteering at St Ann's Hospital. Pat was a life long sports fan and enjoyed watching the Indians , Cavs, Browns, and most of all her Ohio State Buckeyes.
She loved reading while sipping cafe mochas on the front porch and conversing with the local wildlife. She always had a special and fun connection with her grandchildren, who will miss her tremendously.
The family is planning a visitation on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Powell. Mass is on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 10:30am at Resurrection Cemetery with interment to follow.
Donations may be made in her memory to Worthington Christian Village Benevolent Fund.
