Patrick M. Emerson, 59, of Westerville, OH passed away October 18, 2021.
He was born in Swindon, England on April 17,1962 to George and Lucy (Bell) Emerson.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Surviving family includes loving wife of 30 years, Julie (Hochstetter) Emerson; daughter, Miranda; mother, Lucy Emerson; siblings, Deanna (Dennis) Weaver, Michael Emerson, Donald (Shelby) Emerson; father-in-law, Randy (Patty) Hochstetter; nieces and nephews, Jason Emerson, Shauna Garthe, Josh Emerson, Elizabeth Emerson, Eyan Emerson, Eren Emerson; as well as good friends, Mitchell Rush, Mark Deaterla and Tom Frey.
His family moved to Washington state when he was a year old, where he spent the majority of his childhood before moving back to Ohio at age 16.
He joined the Army at 17 and spent four years in service to his country as a small arms repairman.
After his military service, Patrick went to work at Emerson Lumber where he spent 23 years and made many lifelong friends. He met his wife Julie in 1987, and they were married for 30 years, having their daughter Miranda in 1995.
His hobbies and interests included history, collecting coins and firearms, as well as a love of auto racing and the Buckeyes, leading him to serve as a Red Coat at Ohio State for several seasons.
Patrick will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, vast knowledge of many topics and ability to build many things from scratch.
A Celebration of his life will be held from 5-7 pm, Friday, October 29, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231, where a memorial service will begin at 7 pm.
