Patrick Waiswa

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dr. Patrick Zedekiah Waiswa age 58 of Columbus, Ohio. He passed away after a tragic car accident on January 15th, 2025.

Born in Jinja, Uganda to late Zedekiah Isabirye and Monica Nabirye. Dr.Patrick Waiswa was a graduate of Makerere University, where he earned a degree in Education. He then moved to United Kingdom to further his education at the University of Essex where he earned Masters in Sociology. Dr. Waiswa's ambitiousness made him move to USA in 2000. A Philomath that Dr. Waiswa was, he concentrated in Nursing education attaining a Doctorate in Nursing (Ph.D.) at Chamberlain University. He worked in several capacities within this field, dedicating himself to nurturing those around him and always putting the needs of others first. His warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit made everyone feel cherished cared for and loved.

Dr. Waiswa was a loving, kind, caring, peaceful, hardworking, ambitious, easy-going and selfless man. Dr. Patrick Waiswa was a man of very few words yet a very big heart.

He is survived by spouse and his four beautiful children he so very much loved, Amani 14, Sean 12, Kevin 10 and JJ 8 years old. Brother and uncle to many. Dr. Waiswa's family will continue to honor his legacy by living with the same grace and kindness he embodied. Though he is no longer with us, his love will remain a part of us always. He will be laid to rest March 15, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. 

Dr. Patrick Waiswa will be dearly missed by his family and friends. May his soul rest in perfect eternal peace. We love you and you will forever be in our hearts.
