Paul James "Peace" Mech, 62, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away July 24, 2021.
He was born in Springfield, OH on April 17, 1959 to the late Lawrence and Mildred (McClain) Mech. On his first night home, a herd of curious Holstein cows broke loose from the field next door, mounted the porch, peered into the window, frightened his mother, and probably began his lifelong love of critters.
Surviving family includes loving wife of 37 years, Sharon Mech; children, Nova (Scott) of Lockport, NY, Riley and Wulf of Columbus, OH; siblings, Janet (David) Geeslin of Rushsylvania, OH, Erich (Cindy) of Van Wert, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and online Second Life and End of Time family.
Paul graduated from Indian Lake High School and attended Ohio University.
He was a programmer for many years and then became a houseparent and homeschooler. His dry ice and catapult demonstrations were legendary in the homeschooling community.
The family wishes to thank Columbus Division of Fire, Station 21; the nursing staff of Riverside Silver, and the nursing and respiratory staff of Grant CCU.
