Paul Michael Nelson, 77, of Grove City, passed away on May 17th, 2023.
Paul was born the oldest of five, on November 5th, 1945 to Deloris Nellie and Paul Donald Nelson in Columbus, Ohio. After Paul graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School in 1964, he went on to join the United States Navy. He served as a Naval Chef aboard the U.S.S. Dixie until his Honorable Discharge in February 1970.
In 1973, while working as a chef at the L.K. restaurant, formerly located on Henderson Road in Columbus, he met his future wife, Sheree Held. They were married in May of 1975 and together had three children: Michael Paul, Matthew James, and Emily Anne.
Paul went on to become a long-haul truck driver in 1994, visiting all 48 continental states and several provinces of Canada during his 15-year-long career. His driving call sign, "Bullwinkle" always let everyone who heard it know of his love of the classic show "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show" And if that didn't, his plethora of decals, stuffed dolls, and branded shirts surely would.
While Paul's favorite way to unwind and relax was to watch his favorite television shows he was also known to, on occasion, hit the bowling alley and revel in a win on the miniature golf course.
Paul was preceded in death by his father Paul Donald Nelson and his mother Deloris Nellie Nelson. He is survived by his wife Sheree, sons Michael and Matthew, daughter Emily, sister Mary, and brothers Pat, Mark, and Chris.
