Paul Dean Pettit, age 87, passed away on November 29, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Florence and Stanley Pettit.
Paul was a Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart. He attended Avondale UMC for 65 years until it's closing, when many of the remaining congregants started attending First Baptist Church together. Paul retired from the Columbus Division of Fire after 28 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, guitarist and singer, and an occasional golfer and hunter. He loved being with family and friends, anywhere and anytime.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 68 years, Jonie; children, Cindy (Jeff) Daniels, Mike (Lani) Pettit, Lynn (Ed) Moran, Amy Chiappetta; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many dear friends. Paul was preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Dick, Cliff (Cris), Jack (Med), Jerry (Hazel) and Tom (Jo-Ann).
The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by procession to Sunset Cemetery. Masks are required.
