Paul "Gary" Poole, 73, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his residence.
He was born February 15, 1940 in Lancaster, son of the late Paul E. and Mamie E. Monson Poole.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Edwin C. and Marty J. Huber.
He was a 1958 graduate of Linden McKinley High School.
Gary retired from General Motors with over 35 years of service and Champions Golf Course with over 13 years of service.
He was also a member of F.O.E. Aerie 2252 Columbus–Linden.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Huber Poole; son, Gary A. (Elaine) Poole; daughter, Tamara J. (Joseph) Renusch; sister, Gay Cahall; grandchildren, Stephanie Jane (Phillip) Eckelberry, Samantha (Aaron) Little, Mary Elizabeth (Sean) Anderson, Aaron W. Poole, Angie (Matt) Cox, Jamiee (Josh) Partain and Samantha R. Renusch; great grandchildren, Michael and Ethan Eckelberry, Brody and Aaron Jr. Little, Anthony Cox, Claudia Partain and one on the way; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with an Eagles service beginning at 7:30 PM.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 540 Officecenter Place Ste. 100 Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
