Paula Jayne Dalton passed away Wednesday, January 12th, 2022. She was born August 26th, 1955. Paula graduated from Westland High School and went on to study cinema, photography, and industrial design as well as art education at Ohio State University.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Dorothy Wagner and sister Sally Ream. She is survived by her siblings Davina Gochenouer, John (Joann) Loomis, Mary Ellen Gavin, & Joseph "Jack" (Connie) Castorino, niece Sarina (George) Anderson, and 2 cats Lily and Jinx.
Paula taught art at Westerville South High School for over 20 years. An absolute legend among her students, Paula was a hard a$$ with a heart of gold, keen intellect, and sharp sense of humor. She taught everything from art foundations to digital photography and ceramics. Every so often you could get out of a tardy if you brought her a bag of peanut M&Ms.
She loved four letter words as much as she loved photography, was famous for not holding her opinion back (at all), and had a life-long love affair with pink flamingos.
A celebration of life will be announced in spring of 2022. Memorial donations can be made to one of her chosen non-profits: Tecumseh Land Preservation Association, Colony Cats, the John Glenn Astronomy Park, WOSU Public Media, and WCBE FM.
Paula was artist through and through. She fiercely loved those she held close. To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement.
