Paula Hauer

December 16, 1961 — February 21, 2025

Columbus

Paula Hauer, a luminous soul and adventurous spirit, touched the lives of all who knew her. Born on December 16, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, she lived a life rich with laughter, love, and the thrill of discovery. Paula departed this world on February 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by her beloved family and friends.

A graduate of West High School, Paula dedicated over two decades of her professional journey to FedEx Ground. But her most treasured achievements were not reflected in her career alone; rather, they shone brightly in her role as a mother and grandmother. As a proud matriarch, she reveled in every moment spent with her daughters—Heather (Mike) Clary, Kaleigh, and Jordan—and her grandchildren, Austin, Jacob, and Colt, who were her pride and joy.

Paula possessed an infectious laugh, a generous heart, and an adventurous spirit that drew people in. She was the life of any gathering, known for her spirited personality that combined stubbornness with kindness, making her not only the best mom ever but a forever friend to many. Her enthusiasm for spontaneous road trips, whether they led to distant adventures or simply meandered to nowhere, created countless memories filled with joy and exploration. For Paula, every holiday was a grand occasion, crafted with love to bring everyone together as she made gifts happen with flair and thoughtfulness.

An aficionado of rock and roll, she found solace and excitement in the rhythms of AC/DC, Meatloaf, Rod Stewart, and Bob Seger, often indulging in loud music blasting as she cruised through life in her beloved car. Her expressiveness was evident in her passion for home decor, particularly bright sunflowers that could lighten any space, much as her effervescent spirit brightened the hearts of those around her.

Paula is survived by her devoted spouse, Thomas, her adoring daughters, her doting grandchildren, her brother Steve (Jennifer) Halliday, her cherished niece Mackenzie, and her best friend Sarah Roush—each of whom holds a piece of her enduring spirit in their hearts. She will also be missed by her precious fur baby, Scarlett, whose companionship brought her endless joy.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry and Janet (Priest) Halliday, who have surely welcomed her with open arms.

In remembrance of Paula Hauer, let us gather with hearts full of gratitude for her adventurous spirit and unyielding love. Visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest in Grove City, on February 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Union Cemetery in Columbus at 1:00 PM.
