Penny Vance

PENNY LEE VANCE went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 9th, 2023. Penny was born February 15th, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio to Arlen and Ruth Mary Hughes. Penny married Raymond F. Vance and eventually together they bought and ran Sandy's Bakery on the Westside. She loved meeting and greeting people as a cashier. Eventually they sold the bakery, Raymond retired and they headed for the beach and warm weather in Florida, where Penny found a job at CVS right on the beach! Penny loved watching all of the food cooking channels, as well as collecting the biggest collection of cookbooks. She would talk your ears off about the recipes and she was, in fact, a great cook.

Penny was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Vance and daughter Paula (Dolly) Vance. She was survived by her brother, JR Hughes, her aunt Jerri Sharp, children Raymond F. Vance Jr II and Perri Kise-Miller, Barb Gastright and Terry Vance. Penny had grandchildren who she loved dearly, Cameron, Angela, Raelyn, Gabrielle, Chloe, Megan, and Josh. Great-grandchildren, Irick, Greyson, Lola, and Jax. She was fortunate to have her special friend, Peggy Whitley.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 from 9:30am-10:30am with a Memorial Service from 10:30am-11:00am where family and friends are welcome to share memories and stories. These will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, 614-539-6166. Following the service we will be going in a procession to Greenlawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43223.
