Peter "Pete" Joseph Reichley

Peter “Pete” Joseph Reichley, 6, of Columbus passed away on November 9, 2024 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, surrounded by family after a battle with Fanconi Anemia and Lymphoma. He was born on October 3, 2018 to Mark C. and Elizabeth “Betsy” W. (Leffler) Reichley.

 Along with his parents, Pete is survived by his four siblings Jane, David, Margaret and Michael and his rascally cousins Warren, Philip, Luke, Reyna and Neil. Together they were his biggest fans, best friends, and favorite fun makers. He also deeply loved his grandparents, William “Bill” and Sarah (Weisgarber) Leffler, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Peter was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ronald J. and Maryann Reichley. No doubt they are now making up for lost time!

 Peter, the Kindergartner, loved to be outside hitting the whiffle ball, shooting hoops, making goals, taking walks and swimming. He made fun in his own cool and unique way anywhere he went. Whether in the backyard, at Turkeyfoot Lake, or an aunt’s house. Time with his family was the most important to him, whether in person or through his famous FaceTime calls. Pete loved to connect with people. He was a conversationalist, sometimes with humans and sometimes with his stuffed animals. He exuded a joy and zest for life, driven by his trust in Jesus and confidence of where he was headed. As his body failed him he grew stronger in his excitement and anticipation for heaven and a new body. Pete lived Philippians 4:5, “Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”

 The Baby Yoda-Basset Hound lover will surely be missed. A Celebration of Peter’s life will be held Thursday December 5 at Dwell Community Church Main Campus. (1340 Community Park Dr. Columbus, OH). 3:30pm Refreshments and 4pm Celebration. Casual dress please, and kids welcome!

Pete and his family are eternally grateful for the next-level holistic care they received in the ICU and H11 and H12 floors.
