Phillip Maldon Duke (Sunrise August 14, 1932 --- Sunset December 7, 2023)
His love of the Lord and His Word was his greatest legacy he left for his family and friends. "Have Faith" was his motto and Psalm 91 was his mantle. He shared his faith wherever he went and whoever would listen. Phil loved talking to young people about the Lord (especially at Skyline Chili) and they would flock to him. He was so so funny and would bring people to tears with some of the things he said and did. Phil had a zest for life and even learned how to downhill ski with Kay and oh the stories. He loved his fur babies, Josh, Sam, Eli, Madi Mae and Ash and spoiled them horribly. They brought him joy, companionship and love. Phil's love for art, music, poetry, nature, travel, adventure, laughter, and banter is what his family and friends will carry as a treasure in this life, but his love for the Jesus is the treasure they will carry into the life to come.
Phil faithfully served his country as a US Marine in Korea and spent his working life in the telephone industry. Together with his wife Joan May, they raised six beautiful children. Later in life he found love again and married Kay who deeply loved and cared for him until the Lord called him home.
He was known by many names: "Sandy" for his blonde hair, "Flip" for his funny personality, "Daddy" by his doting daughters, "Dad or Pops" by his sons, "Papa" by his many grand and great grand kids and "Honey" by his devoted wife Kay.
Phil leaves behind his love and legacy to his wife Kay, his children, Ursula Marie (Jim) Merrick, Phyllis Ann (Steve) Sharp, Michael Anthony (Kim) Duke, and Christopher Lars (Emilie) Duke and Beverly Elizabeth Duke, 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He will also be greatly missed by his brother Richard Tadlock, his sister Joyce Sullivan, nieces, nephews and Kay's family, Craig (Wilanne) Perry-Ollila, Pam (Rick) Baader, and Scott (Laurie) Perry.
He is rejoicing in heaven with wife of his children Joan, his son Gregory Scott, his sister Barbara, his parents JB and Lois, his great granddaughter Kayli Mae.
