Phillip E. Mills, 88, passed away September 16, 2011. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 14, 1923 to William Clifford and Myrl (Korn) Mills. In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Mills. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty (Nail) Mills; daughter, Myrl (the late Radford) Short; grandchildren, Chrissy (Larry) Stutz, Phillip (Christine) Barnes, Brad (Becky) Short, Tammy (Jose Villa) Short, Tonya (Jeff Slusher) Hergenrother, Carrie Short and Jeremiah Short; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, Marco, Alyssa, Brooklyn, Marissa, Trinity, Sydney, Holly, Bradley and Emmalynn. Phillip retired from serving in the U.S. Navy and then became a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Fleet Reserve Association, American Legion and VFW. Memorial Service Saturday, September 24th at 1:30 pm at Bible Community Church, 3880 Clime Rd., Columbus, OH 43228. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phillip's memory to Odyssey Hospice, 540 Officecenter Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230 or Bible Community Church. Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel was honored to serve the Mills family.
