On Saturday, February 13, 2021, Phyllis "Debie" Cameron, loving mother and sister, passed away at the age of 58.
Debie was born on August 1, 1962 in Portsmouth, Ohio to John and Betty (Schiltz) Hike. She was a bus driver for Columbus City Schools for several years and was active in many social clubs, such as bowling. She married Mark Cameron in 1981 and had two beautiful children, CJ and Cassie.
Debie enjoyed spending time in her backyard where she sunbathed by the pool and spent many hours enjoying the views of her colorful gardens. She particularly loved greenery and house plants. Debie also enjoyed surrounding herself with her loved ones; whether that meant playing games, cards, or just simply watching her favorite TV shows and movies. She was famous for her no-bake cookies and her love for The King, Elvis Presley.
Debie was preceded in death by her father, John, mother, Betty, and sister, Kim. She is survived by her two children, CJ (Jennifer) Cameron and Cassie (Joe) Thomas, her brother, John, and several cousins. A public viewing will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City from 12pm-4pm, with a funeral service to follow immediately at 4pm, Pastor Tim Womack officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are accepted by the family.
