Phyllis "Sue" Childers, age 75, passed away on May 8, 2021. She was born on January 2, 1946 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Marie and Don R. Goodwin.
Phyllis was married to Donald Childers and their wedding date was November 13, 1970 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1997.
Sue worked for the Columbus Dispatch for 8 years. She retired from Columbus City Schools. She loved to work with kids. Sue liked making donuts and buckeyes. She enjoyed growing up on the farm.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Tracy Childers (fiance, Sara Elswick); siblings, John (Barbara) Goodwin, Ruth Goodwin, Jim (Karla) Goodwin, Art (Janet) Goodwin, Steve (Karen) Goodwin, Alice (Brian) Meadows; countless nieces and nephews and many other family members. Sue was preceded by her siblings, Edgar Goodwin, Floyd Goodwin, Lee Goodwin, Don Goodwin, Truman Goodwin, Russell Goodwin, Sara Nicol.
The family will receive guests on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. The burial will take place at York Cemetery in York Center, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: St. Jude Children's Research.
