Phyllis Gray (Johnson) Wall

June 30, 1937 - December 27, 2024

Phyllis Wall, 87, passed away on December 27. She was a loving mother and wife and, according to her husband and sons, the sweetest, cutest, and prettiest that’s ever been.

Phyllis was born in Inez, Kentucky, graduated from Kermit High School in West Virginia and moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1955.

She had four phenomenal sons (according to her) who will miss her dearly.

She was married to Dave Wall for nearly 40 years. They traveled, spent many winters enjoying their home and friends in Florida and summers in Ohio in their home on the Scioto River, from which they could hear the roar of the lions from the Columbus Zoo on the other side.

As a young mom, she drove us to the swimming pool and to sports and music practices and she did yoga, hooked and braided rugs, knitted and led our Cub Scout den.

She was a fabulous cook, and she made delicious desserts – – pies, cakes, cookies -- anything a young boy could imagine. However, she cooked much less later, and Dave still wonders if we made this up.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Dave; her sons, Jim, Ken and John Parrish; her grandchildren, Amy, Levi, Jozee, Tori, and Will; and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Noah, and Gabriella.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Jeff, and her brother, John Johnson.

A private Remembrance Gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
