Phyllis Eileen Wilson

Phyllis Eileen Wilson, age 85, ascended into heaven in the presence of family at The Inn at Walnut Trail in Sunbury, Ohio. She leaves behind her sons Tim (Kathy), Andrew (Heidi); daughters Margo (Mark) Chaney, Patti (Kim) Wilson; grandchildren Sara (Justin) Willhite, Mason (Abbie) Boggs, Oliver Wilson, Zackary (Kimiko) Wilson, and Anna Wilson; along with great-grandchildren Austin Willhite, Ethan Willhite, and Benson Boggs. Phyllis was preceded in death by Robert E. Wilson, her husband of 64 years and by her parents Paul and Ethel Cooperrider.

Phyllis was born in Newark, Ohio and graduated from Newark High School in 1957. Her professional journey encompassed roles at the Newark Trust Company, Chase Bank, and ODOT before retiring. She was a member of North Church, Columbus and was previously a part of Christian Community Church in Westerville and Christian Endeavor UMC in Newark where she actively volunteered in numerous areas. After her husband’s passing, she found solace during the last couple of years at the Inn at Walnut Trail where she loved interacting with her community of friends and staff, engaging in crafts, games, and initiating a Bible study.

She was a loyal sports fan, especially of The Ohio State Buckeyes Men’s and Women’s teams and the Dallas Cowboys.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. On Friday, November 15, visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with service starting at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Wilson Cemetery in Newark, Ohio.
