Polly J. Griffith, 73, of Columbus, OH, passed away September 6, 2012. She was born in Van Lear, KY on August 3, 1939.
She was a member of Southwest Free Will Baptist Church. Polly retired from The Ohio State University. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Myrtle (Ramey) Smetanko, sons; Louis R. Hansgen, Ronald E. Hansgen, John H. Griffith, brothers, John and Robert Smetanko. Surviving family includes, husband, Robert Griffith, children; Barbara Pridmore, Kenneth L. Hansgen, Teresa (John) Young, Sam (Donna) Griffith, step-children; Rita (Tom) Ray, Anita (Ellis) Brown, Bobbie Jo Whiteside and James R. Griffith, brothers, Larry (Nancy) Smetanko and Michael Smetanko and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm, Monday, September 10, 2012 at Southwest Free Will Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Road, Columbus, OH, 43223. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor John Meade at 1:00pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Southwest Free Will Baptist Church.
