Raeissa Simone Upchurch

Raeissa Simone Upchurch, 32, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022. She was born on June 9, 1989, in Louisville, KY, to Sharon (Marcum) Upchurch and the late Ricky Upchurch.
Raeissa attended Columbus Community College and was working towards her nursing degree. She loved music, jewelry, designing clothes and her beautiful tattoos. She loved her family and spending time with friends. She had a beautiful smile and a love-filled heart. Rae endured a lot of pain in her lifetime, and withstood more than most ever could. Her decision was brought about by too much suffering. She is now at peace and will be missed dearly.
Raeissa is survived by her mom, Sharon; children, Marqual Akeem Betters, Raelee and Raeleah Betters; father of her children, Marqual Betters; siblings, Rose, Rita, Amil and Angela; nephews, Romin Kimbro, Evan Jaggers, Jarrell, and "little Amil"; nieces, Gracie, Erin and Riley; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her dad; brothers, Reonal Upchurch and Ryan Rush; and her grandparents, Verneda Upchurch and Lee Andrew Upchurch, Ivan and Dolene Marcum.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 5-8 p.m., at Newcomer NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, 43065, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2 p.m.
