Ralph Edward, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, age 88, of Middletown went home to His Heavenly Father on Monday November 18, 2013 at St. Anne's Hospital in Westerville. He was born in Middletown on November 5, 1925 to the late Roscoe Evans and Thelma Evans (Richardson). He is preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Evans, his brother John Evans, his sister Phyllis Turner and grandson Kyle Lawson.
Ralph served his country in the United Stated Army Air Corp during WWII from 1943-1946. Ralph graduated from the University of Cincinnati and Miami University of Oxford. Ralph's true joys were flying planes and singing in the Christian-aires Quartet.
He is survived by his first wife Elaine Sanderson, their children: Susan, Thomas, and Robert Evans, their grandchildren: Roxanne Berry, Nols, Kyle, Joseph and Samuel Evans, Kelly Lawson, and great-grandchildren Julian and Ethan Berry.
He is also survived by his second wife Flo Evans, his step-daughter April Domine, and step-grandchildren, Anthony Domine, Gianna Harrison.
He retired from AK Steel Corporation in 1982 after 36 years of service as a Research Engineer and Manager of Engineering. Ralph served on the Board of Directors at The Church of God Crawford Street/Breiel Boulevard, and he was CEO of Willow Knoll. Later, he was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Union County in Blairsville, Georgia where he directed the OASIS (Older Adults Sharing In Service) ministry.
Ralph will be truly missed by the many lives he touched and taught the meaning of faith in Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday November 21, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village Chapel, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe Ohio 45050.
