Randy "Big R" Blanton, 65, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away July 21, 2021.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 15, 1956 to the late Forest and Dorothy (Molnar) Blanton.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Doug Asprey; and sister, Vicki Moore.
Surviving family includes, wife of 50 years, Patty Blanton; children, Doug (Christina) Blanton, Amie (Mark) Hawley, Randi Ann (Rob) Layfield, Crystal (Mike) Smith, Billy (Megan) Sauer; twenty eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; siblings, Kathy Whitaker, Lynne (Tony) Featherston, Cheryl (Danny) Cook, Tom (Pam) Blanton, Michael Blanton; as well as other loving extended family and friends.
Family was everything to Randy and he lived for them. He loved to see his legacy lived out through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a hard working man and instilled those qualities in his children, and those he mentored along the way.
Randy was a man of God and attended The Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church for many years.
He was a prankster, always making people laugh.
Randy was the rock of his family and there was nothing he would not do for all of them.
He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, Original "O.G." and THE GOAT!
Randy will truly be missed.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Gahanna Free Will Baptist Church, 3868 N. Stygler Road, Columbus , Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 also at the church. Burial will follow in procession to Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, Ohio.
