Raymond Carroll Adams

Raymond Carroll Adams, 74, Columbus, passed away on the fourth of August, 2024.Raymond was born on the seventh of December, 1949, in Wayne, West Virginia to Richard George Adams and Columbia June Adkins.

He went into the service at the age of 17 and served in the Army during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged. Raymond spent most of his career at the Columbus Dispatch Printing Company. He gave 36 years of service to them. He retired as a supervisor in the packaging and distribution department. He also held positions there with such titles as journeyman mailer, mechanic, and mailroom supervisor. Raymond spent most of his retired years with family and friends. He was very proud to be a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Linden Aerie 2252, where people listened and understood his life. He had many friends there that he saw on a daily basis for years. Other times he spent time with his son and best friend Brian, or on the phone with family and cousins. He was raised in the Christian church. He was a man of strong faith. Raymond was baptized at the age of 13 by Minister McGinnis in North Linden, Evangelical United Brethren Church. He and John Cappel (dear friend) were baptized together. 

Raymond will be deeply missed by his wife, Dolores Adams; children: Rachelle Adams (Robert), Corinne Adams (Neal), Brian Adams, Tony Adams, Kellie Haynes, Alysia Rae Gobert-Smith, and Hallie Shopbell (Stephen). Grandchildren: Micheal, David, Jacob, Tenley, Anthony, Nicole, Kaden, Christina, Jaiden, Rayleigh, Nicole, Abigail, Andrew, Chloe, Eli and Samuel. Brothers: Dicky (Sharon) and Bobby (Vicky). Sisters: Cindy (Rick) and Debbie (Eli). 

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, father, and daughter Crystal Adams. 

Visitation will be Saturday August 10th at 9am following a service at 10am at Newcomer NE Chapel,3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. Pastor Kerry Davis will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow and be at the Riverside Cemetery on 3840 Sunbury Rd, where military rites will be held.
